Every tool that makes synthetic people builds them one at a time. A persona here, a respondent there, each prompted into being alone. Ask a hundred of them the same question and you get a hundred unrelated answers — plausible in isolation, incoherent as a group. The crowd never adds up to a society.
Synthetic Tribes inverts the order. We generate the society first, then derive its members from it. Belief follows from position. Position follows from history. A person is what their world made them.
Coherence stops being a prompt.
It becomes structural.

Four layers. One living object.
The society is a single generative stack. Each layer constrains the one below it, so nothing about a member floats free of the world that produced them.
Substrate
The world. Geography, economy, history, the narratives a people tell themselves, and the fault lines they carry: class, faith, generation, grievance.
Population
The distribution. A sociologically plausible spread of lives, not a random sample. The substrate decides who exists, and in what proportion.
Individuals
The members. Each carries belief clusters, relational ties, a history that set their priors, and a voice. No opinion arrives unexplained.
Dynamics
The motion. Inject an event and the tribe responds. Coalitions form, trust shifts, some defect, some harden, some quietly hold the centre.
Interview anyone in the tribe. They answer in voice,
with the limits of what they could know.
